Bio:
Alison O’Neil, B.S.M.E., A.R.S. is a recognized authority at the intersection of beauty, wellness, and the science of aging, with a distinguished career spanning dermatology, psychology, and cosmetology.
A L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth Honoree, keynote speaker, and author, Alison advances a defining principle for the industry: aesthetic health is essential health. She defines aesthetic health as the full continuum of professional care that supports dignity, comfort, and wellbeing across the lifespan—including skin care, hair care and styling, nail care, and therapeutic touch through massage—demonstrating how these services meaningfully enhance quality of life, especially for older adults.
Alison established the first dermatologic rehabilitation clinic at Emory University and has been part of the medical aesthetics field since its earliest development. She served 11 years on the National Board of Cosmetology and authored the national licensing examinations five times, helping shape the professional standards and competency framework that continue to guide the industry today.
Since 2019, she has served as Chair of the Global Wellness Institute Aesthetic Health Initiative, leading global dialogue on the role of beauty and wellness professionals in healthy longevity and quality of life.
Her work has been widely recognized by leading institutions in aging, health, and wellness innovation, including the Georgia Tech Research Institute, AARP, the American Society on Aging, and the Geriatric Educators Association.
She is Founder and President of Senior Select Seal, an award-recognized certification training beauty professionals in Geriatric Aesthetics, and the Beauty Becomes You™ Foundation, a 501(c)(3) devoted to preventing Failure to Thrive Syndrome through aesthetic health and hygiene support. In 2026, this work earned her the Compassion Category award from The Skin Games.
A Point of Light honoree and Presidential Service Award recipient, Alison has published in Skin Deep, Skin Inc., and EuroCosmetics, and continues to speak at medical, cosmetic, and consumer conferences worldwide.
